Posting from my Mac, AKA Simplicity rules!
I just wanted to iterate (and will likely re-iterate) how happy I am to have chosen this initial system for my personal dev-blog (Zola).
I am about to leave on a weekend away with some friends, and thought I might have some downtime (with weak internet, hence no watching TV/videos) to use towards drafting some posts I have wanted to make. In preparation for this, I felt it would be smart to pre-install Zola and make sure that I can actually write some posts while I’m not able to rely on internet.
It turns out that setup was very easy. Zola is installable via brew, and I seem to have already spent the time gettings a simple setup of VSCode and iTerm on my Mac. Can you tell I don’t use it very frequently?
Anyways, if it’s that easy to get things up and running, then my only excuse is lack of time. It goes to show that there is value in the minimum-viable-product mentality. Ideally, I would love to adopt this in my projects.
P.S. I will likely have more thoughts like this. If I can get into the habit of writing down anything interesting, I can spend my memory remembering the important stuff. A primary example where my memory is lacking is in people’s names.
Cheers,
Xavier
